During "American Idol," Sara Beth Liebe didn't expect a celebrity judge to make a joke about her kids.
Liebe, 25, informed "Idol" judges she had three children before her audition. She said she would faint if Katy Perry laid down. “Honey, you've been laying on the table too much,” Perry told People.
The audition, televised earlier this month, has over 1 million YouTube views. Liebe later said the joke hurt. Sara Beth Liebe discussed her "American Idol" audition.
“It was awkward to have that on TV, and it was hurtful,” Liebe stated in a TikTok video after receiving several messages about the audition, according to People.
“Women supporting and elevating other women is really nice and I believe mom-shaming is super dumb and I think it's hard enough to be a parent and a woman.”
She stated no mother should feel horrible about having children. Perry's comment angered some "American Idol" viewers.
After she sung her pure heart out, the judges behaved like they needed to save face and stay harsh towards her instead of realizing they might have jumped the gun developing a judgment too quickly
Billboard claimed that viewers called Her "a beam of sunshine" and praised her vocals and happiness throughout her audition.
Mom-shaming is when individuals condemn women for making motherhood decisions differently from them.
Mom-shaming is criticizing a woman's family size. According to the Intermountain Health website, mom-shaming can raise melancholy and anxiety in women.
Mom-shaming also includes condemning women for bottle-feeding or nursing and shaming working mothers, Very Well Family stated.
